LEXUS LAUNCHES DYNAMIC NEW LX VARIANT
A stunning new variant of the Lexus LX flagship SUV introduces a bold new look and improved handling for an enhanced driving experience.
The new Lexus LX 570 S is equipped with a body kit, large new alloy wheels, performance dampers, semi-aniline leather-accented trim, alloy pedals and other features exclusive to the new variant.
Exterior enhancements include aggressively styled front and rear bumper skirts, gloss black 21-inch forged alloy wheels and an exclusive sports mesh pattern for the signature spindle grille.
The power and aesthetics highlighted by these upgrades are complemented by front and rear performance dampers that improve body rigidity and steering stability.
LX 570 S is offered with two exterior colours - Sonic Quartz and Starlight Black.
Inside, the new variant's luxury semi-aniline perforated leather trim is available in Black or, exclusively for this variant, a rich burgundy colour named Garnet. Shimamoku Grey ornamentation is also unique to the LX 570 S.
Alloy pedals add to the sporty design aesthetic while other features include courtesy lamps in the exterior mirrors that project "LX S" branding on the ground and a LX 570 S badge on the rear.
Lexus Australia chief executive Scott Thompson said the new LX 570 S would complement the brand's flagship SUV model line-up while contributing to its sales, which are up 10.4 per cent so far this year.
"The striking features of the new LX 570 S, from its unique exterior styling to the dynamic upgrades, symbolise the evolution of the LX model and will further expand its popularity among consumers," Mr Thompson said.
As the premier variant of the LX 570 range, the new model offers an impressive list of technology, safety and luxury features.
The Lexus Safety System + incorporates a pre-collision safety system with pedestrian detection, radar active cruise control, lane departure warning, adaptive high-beam system, head-up display, blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert.
Other standard equipment includes a reversing camera with an almost 180-degree field of view, 10 airbags, four-camera multi-terrain monitor and panoramic view monitor, heated steering wheel, and ventilation and heating for the front and outboard second-row seats.
The LX 570 S also has a 12.3-inch high-definition screen, satellite navigation, and four-zone climate control air conditioning with climate concierge function and nanoe technology.
Power comes from a 5.7-litre V8 engine with 270kW/530Nm outputs and eight-speed automatic transmission, capable of towing up to 3500kg (braked)*. The vehicle can carry 138 litres of fuel with 93-litre main and 45-litre sub tanks.
The LX 570 S is priced at $168,089** - a $6,500 premium over the model on which it is based, the LX 570 with Enhancement Pack. The Enhancement Pack also gains the semi-aniline leather-accented trim. The LX 570 price is unchanged from $142,789.
Australians have bought more than 5,500 examples of the LX Line, which now includes the LX 570, LX 570 S and turbo-diesel powered LX 450d.
This year, sales have increased 10.4 per cent to 277 vehicles, the strongest sales performance for the model since 2004.
