In a winning formula for the 2020 Melbourne Cup Carnival, Principal Partner of the Victoria Racing Club, Lexus Australia, has welcomed Lexus Melbourne Cup winning trainer, Danny O'Brien and wife Nina as ambassadors to the luxury lifestyle brand.

A year after adding an exhilarating new chapter into the history books of Australian racing when five year-old gelding, Vow and Declare, sensationally triumphed in the 2019 Lexus Melbourne Cup - the first Australian trained, owned and ridden horse to win in more than a decade - the country's racing royalty will be chasing the same electrifying feeling with Lexus in 2020.

The O'Briens are not only home-grown Australian talent but a credible force, joining Lexus Australia as the luxury lifestyle brand's newest addition to the stable.

While the O'Briens pursuit of race day perfection came to fruition at Flemington last year, Lexus Australia Chief Executive Scott Thompson said it is the couple's equal reserves of courage and endurance that epitomises the Lexus brand values creating a natural synergy for the partnership.

"The Lexus Melbourne Cup is among the most revered race days in the world, because it is one of the hardest to win; as Principal partner of the MCC we strive to support world class talent and are thrilled to welcome Danny and Nina O'Brien to the Lexus Australia family," Mr Thompson said.

Renowned in the racing industry for his relentless drive, O'Brien's ambitious stable will be hoping for second tilt at "the race that stops the nation" with Cup contenders - including favourite Russian Camelot - to be cheered on by Nina, a former model and mother of two, who forms part of her husband's integral racing team as Special Projects Manager.

The O'Briens will join a roll call of the country's leading creative thinkers and tastemakers aligning with Lexus Australia for this year's Melbourne Cup Carnival, under the 2020 theme of "Senses Electrified".

Complementing the unveiling of the new the LF-30 Electrified Concept vehicle, the renowned industry leaders will deliver an immersive, multi- sensory Birdcage experience into Australian homes through online platform, The Lexus Lifestyle Hub.

Virtually translating the tactility of a trackside enclosure, the new digital destination will be an accessible spectacle of the senses across food, fashion, florals, design and music while also opening virtual doors to typically exclusive racing insights, interviews and experiences.

Acting as beacons of the Lexus Australia brand, Danny and Nina will draw on their racing passions and unique insight to hero equine stories across the Carnival.

"The Lexus Melbourne Cup is obviously a very sentimental day for us, and we are excited to be joining Lexus Australia to bring the trackside action into homes across the country," said Mr O'Brien.

"In a year like no other, we want to give all Australian spectators exclusive behind-the-scenes access so they can also experience the electrifying rush that comes with competing on one of the greatest stages in sport," said Ms O'Brien.

Importantly, this Melbourne Cup Carnival, Lexus Australia in conjunction with Danny and Nina O'Brien are proud to cast a spotlight on the significant work of Living Legends to support the welfare of retired horses.

The International Home of Rest for Champion Horses has been established to bring the stars who once graced the great track back to the public, the charity organisation is fuelled by donations and corporate support in order to provide residence for past icons of the turf including Cup winners Rogan Josh, Brew, Prince Of Penzance, Efficient and Almandin as well as sentimental favourites Apache Cat, Fields of Omagh and Zipping, among others.
