Lexus has brought its signature craftsmanship and welcoming Japanese luxury to Tasmania with the opening of the new Lexus of Tasmania showroom and event space in the heart of vibrant downtown Hobart.

The state-of-the-art experiential suite is located at 160 Elizabeth Street in the newly completed Rox Building, which provided the perfect blank canvas for local architects to create an innovative lifestyle hub unlike any other in Australia.

Inspired by the INTERSECT BY LEXUS luxury brand-experience concept, the new facility goes well beyond the concept of a traditional sales centre by projecting the Lexus brand promise at every touchpoint.

It presents an enticing blend of masterful design, innovative programming and culinary creativity, continuing the brand's commitment to supporting innovation.

Designed by Tasmanian architects Core Collective, the interior fit-out was a collaboration with BYA Architects that engages with the building, the Tasmanian community and core pillars of hospitality, food, design and technology.

Customers are welcomed into a modern space that evokes luxury design and progress befitting the Lexus brand, from the exposed polished concrete floors to the Tasmanian oak adorning the walls.

All furniture is designed and manufactured in Tasmania, with local designer and craftsman Scott Van Tuil commissioned to create two pieces central to the vehicle display for the comfort of guests.

Other local artists will be able to showcase their works, while the space can also be shared and enjoyed by local business and community groups.

Incorporated into the design is a Lexus virtual showroom that allows customers to view, select and build their vehicle using audio-visual technology. Customers can also view an extensive list of pre-owned vehicles.

A highlight of Lexus of Tasmania is a commercial kitchen that can transform into an intimate pop-up restaurant that will feature prominent chefs from Tasmania and the mainland.

The kitchen was designed in consultation with renowned Tasmanian chef Luke Burgess, ensuring that the space is one that customers and chefs alike will enjoy - whether for a morning coffee or a gourmet dinner.

In true Lexus style, chefs can embrace the Japanese hospitality art of omotenashi, providing exceptional service and anticipating the needs of up to 10 guests as they prepare exclusive cuisine before their eyes.

Lexus of Tasmania will be operated by Primewest Motor Holdings Group, which has successfully run the Lexus of Perth dealership for the past 16 years.

Primewest Motor Holdings Group Managing Director David Jeary will spearhead the operation, with daughter Samantha relocating to Hobart to manage the day-to-day running of the business.

Mr Jeary said the new sales suite would provide Tasmanian customers with the excellent customer service and ownership experience for which Lexus is renowned.

"We are committed to providing Tasmanians with the best possible luxury car experience and are committed to creating long-term relationships as we grow the Lexus luxury lifestyle brand here," he said.

Lexus Australia Chief Executive John Pappas said Lexus of Tasmania is a pioneering luxury lifestyle space that showcases the progressive luxury of Lexus and its vehicles through cutting-edge design and craftsmanship.

"The new Lexus of Tasmania sales suite exemplifies the Lexus commitment to customer care and contemporary style, with an identity that is distinctively Tasmanian," Mr Pappas said.

"It is an inspiring space where Lexus is making luxury personal by fostering interaction among people, and between people and the style, performance and technology of Lexus vehicles."
